Privacy Policy
Clear Cache & Hard Reload helps users remove selected website caches and reload tabs.
Information accessed
The extension accesses browser-tab URLs and hostnames to determine what to reload, apply exclusions and site rules, and find matching tabs. When requested, its cache inspector queries whether the page is controlled by a service worker and reads available Cache Storage names. It does not read passwords, form input, messages, or cookies.
Locally stored information
Using Chrome's local extension storage, the extension saves preferences, exclusions, per-site rules, and automatic reload schedules. If history is enabled, up to 200 reload events can store full page URLs, hostnames, dates, reload mode, trigger, result, and timing. Up to 300 diagnostic events can include tab identifiers, hostnames, origins, URLs, cache names, timing, and error text. Users can disable new history entries, clear history and diagnostics, and export records in CSV/JSON. Exported files may contain sensitive visited URLs; review them before sharing.
Cache operation
Standard Reload requests removal of the selected origin's HTTP cache, then reloads with HTTP-cache bypass. Deep Reload additionally requests removal of Cache Storage for that origin. Neither mode intentionally deletes cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, browsing history, or service-worker registrations. Cache clearing can affect other pages sharing the origin. Service workers may still intercept requests and recreate cache entries.
Collection and disclosure
The extension does not send settings, browsing records, history, or diagnostics to NickDidIt or a developer-controlled analytics service. It has no advertising/tracking SDK or remote backend. Websites contacted during normal page reloads handle requests under their own policies. The optional Ko-fi support link opens a separate third-party website governed by Ko-fi's policies.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, information accessed through Chrome extension APIs is used only to provide or improve Clear Cache & Hard Reload's user-facing functions, including targeted cache removal, tab reloads, automatic reload scheduling, site rules, local history, diagnostics, and cache inspection. NickDidIt does not sell or transfer that information to advertising platforms, data brokers, or other information resellers; use it for personalized, interest-based, or retargeted advertising; or allow human access to it, except as expressly permitted by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy (such as with specific user consent, for security, or to comply with applicable law). Any permitted transfer would be limited to the circumstances permitted by that policy.
User choices
Change exclusions and settings or clear history and diagnostic logs through the extension settings. Removing the extension removes its locally stored extension data under normal Chrome behavior.
Updates and contact
This policy will be updated if the extension's data practices change. For questions or concerns, email hello@nickdid.it.
